New Year resolutions anyone? No, me neither. I stopped that soul destroying exercise years ago. I do try to start the year off with a more positive attitude and perhaps a bit more energy and this year I’m going to commit to not making excuses instead I am going to be accountable for action and inaction. There is no question that the Great Pause has taken a huge bite out of the job market and some industries may be changed forever or at least require retooling over the short term. How this will affect new opportunities is yet to be seen however it is critical that we are ready for whatever 2021 throws at us.
For the job seekers, no more procrastination. Time to ensure your resume is up to date and more importantly that you have refreshed the verbiage keeping the afore mentioned changing opportunity structures in mind. Make your job search a priority and treat it like a job and put in the time to get it right.
Hiring managers, don’t delay your recruitment efforts, start reviewing resumes and interviewing potential candidates. Waiting will lose you some valuable resources.
